People are living longer than ever before. If you are 28 or older, you are part of 1.5 billion people who will be over 65 in 2050.
By 2050 nearly 70 % of the world population will live in cities. At the same time, the number of people over 65 will have increased by 183 % compared to 2010.

Over a billion people are estimated to live with some form of disability, according to the World Health Organization. As today we celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities, we recognise that now, more than ever, ISO standards can play a part to make the world more accessible for all.

On the 9th of December, was International Anti-Corruption Day, and an opportunity to raise awareness to the damage it causes. Systemic bribery, among other things, lowers economic growth and discourages investment. It goes hand in hand with poverty and social inequality. But, most importantly, it is very difficult to eradicate.

As the 20th century came to a close, manufacturers realized the need to transform thinking from the product to the system. Manufacturers were no doubt exhausted from having to spot a defect along the process and either scrap the product or send it back into the process for rework. It made economic sense to begin considering the system.
