LEADING MANAGEMENT is a standard model of management which refers to the tasks of the
organization’s activities. These tasks can be described as the five steps that have to be followed for a successful Manager:
PLANNING
The plans should be accurate according to the organization’s activities and
what are the goals to be met. Determination of goals and action plan is
needed. The plans should be flexible using all the organization’s resources
and set the responsibilities to be achieved under a time schedule for
monitoring. The targets should be followed and measured till the final
terminal reached.
ORGANIZING
Control the organization’s activities according to the structure and the responsibilities
given, day-to-day operations and measure the results of meeting the success points.
Organize and develop according to the plans. Plans can be achieved by organizing
the responsibilities undertaken, daily assess the outcome and what are the actions
should be taken for improvements.
Leading
The most important factor is to have the competence to lead others, try to be
their mentor and try to get the best out of the organisation’s personnel and
encouraging them. Select the right persons to undertake responsibilities of
your organisation. Evaluation is required to see if your decision was the right
on. Do not stop training, performance assessing, promotions and position
rotation.
Coordinate and support
The manager should the leader to control the organisation, plan and
ensure that all activities are being met through the team. Team working is
required to be followed for the organisation’s objectives. The lead manager
should also have a role play to support the team by ensuring that
departments are following the organisation’s procedures. Coordination of
the manager means the feedback taken from the team, good
communication and makes the right decisions for the organisation.
Control and monitoring
The controlling function of management is useful for ensuring that all functions within the organisation are operated with success. Monitoring the team has one scope to control the acceptable standards of performance in all relevant targets. The interrelation of the organisation’s process control should be assessed through the standards given. Identify the problems and try to assess the cause. If you find the cause, you will be able to make corrections and fix the problems. But this is not enough try to mitigate the possibility of recalling to the minimum possible by prevention.
A good manager has to be competence of following the five above mentioned steps. Has to be communicated, available for contacting, good knowledge of strategy actions, assessment, and global awareness, how to treat others, capable for team working. The manager is the responsible to guide the organisation to achieve a good business plan and meet the goals.
If these are enough, it is also a big headache that sometimes you carry them with you. A question of “did I make the right decision” is the background noise.
As a lead manager you should be flexible, good in communication, try to understand, strict in business decisions, continuously evaluate yourself and keep a good-self assessment but be honest to your good self.
